Melbourne Silicon Beach is a community of volunteers that give start ups a voice, an opportunity to practice their "pitch", get their business idea out there, connect with business mentors and possibly even find an investor. 

Their mission is to empower startups through education & industry access whilst upholding a safe, communal supportive environment fuels by like-minded entrepreneurial business people.

A diverse bunch covering all ages, backgrounds and first point of call for newcomers to Melbourne. Dubbed as one of the “Most Active Groups in Meetup” in the world, Melbourne Silicon Beach connects you to one of the largest tech ecosystems in the world. Their community of 6,000+ members consisting of startup and tech founders, freelancers, entrepreneurs, coders and professionals in the tech industry.

I attended their June 7th event that was hosted by the Royal Melbourne Hotel on Bourke Street, Melbourne. The atmosphere was electric and the crowd was engaging, friendly, fun, encouraging and most importantly welcoming. It was a great opportunity to network with an emerging start up crowd.
