Every dollar supports their mission of improving the health and life expectancy of our community, locally, nationally and worldwide, through medical research. Through the laboratory research of 200-plus staff and students – as well as multidisciplinary collaborations with scientific organisations around the world – SVI’s efforts continue to lead majorbadvancements in the cause, diagnosis, treatment, prevention and cure of some of the most common life-threatening diseases. Think cancer and heart disease, diabetes, bone diseases, Alzheimer’s. For over 60 years, SVI has taken on the challenge of fundamentally understanding and ultimately conquering these diseases. Our efforts begin at the front end of discovery, even as we consider how our contributions can bring health and healing to patients as quickly as possible. It takes vision, tenacity, and sheer grit to deliver medical breakthroughs.
